The UAE has announced five-year multiple entry visas for tourists of most nationalities visiting the country.
The announcement was created by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime and vice-president Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, while chairing the first Cabinet meeting of the year on Monday.
Sheikh Mohammed said the first- of-its-kind visa is targeted at establishing the UAE as a significant 'global tourism destination' and preparing the country for another 50 years.
At the moment, he said, the country welcomes about 21 million visitors every year.
"The entire year 2020 changes since it is the entire year of preparation for another 50, the entire year where we design the continuing future of the emirates," he said on Twitter.
The move is likely to give a boost to the tourism industry and make it easier for residents to invite relatives to the united states for visits.
The UAE has introduced sweeping reforms to its visa regulations before years to improve economy, help investors, entrepreneurs, qualified families and individuals.
